Ive just purchased a twin cab ute with a tray back for towing our van, after peoples thoughts between canvas, hardtop or full alloy canopies regardind dust water etc Thanks
Go with a full aluminium canopy with lift up sides. Back not all that important.
I had a genuine Holden Canopy fitted from factory but as I get older am starting to regret it. Sadly, it will cost 6-$7,000 to replace now so not worth it.
You will only have the cost of the actual canopy because you have the tray so should be around 2-$3,000. Give or take.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

agree with doug aluminum canopy with gull wing doors much more practical an easier to access, the level of fit out will depend on what you require from bare bones storage to a full blown setup plenty to look at on utube for ideas
Hi Graeme,
As usual, I'm a "bit" late with my reply.
When we bought the D-max last year, I looked at getting one of those canopies but I had 2 obstacles. Both started with "P" - price was $12,000 (yes a tray type ute was slightly cheaper), the other "P" was my wife! Getting a dual cab was bad enough, having one of those canopies would have been the last straw!
I got the Isuzu canopy with lift up windows - not perfect but at least I can access most things through the windows.

One of the most important question that needs to be asked, are you towing a caravan and if the answer is yes then the problems will start as the area is very limited to how much weight you can put in that space.
Now are you going to tow a caravan?
The estimated towball weight and the gross caravan weight?
To get a real answer.
