my travel and occasional work blog

Can't remember if I ever flagged my blog, which is currently an ongoing work being written up from diaries kept as we travelled and picked up occasional itinerant work in unusual places.

Although it is a bit historic now, a lot of the incidental information is still relevant, and of course the places are still there!

If you Google   thisadventurousage.com     home page should be accessible. You can then have a scan of the most recent entries, or go to the drop dpwn menu for Older Travel Diaries to get older trips.

Let me know - on here or via the Comments in the blog - if you find stuff of interest/value.

Well done Wendy. I fast track to 2020 and found it interesting and great pics. I have saved the site and will read away now and then.

It was a very good read wendyv, so thanks for that

I have not read it all, and did get a little confused when the 2020 archives links, went back to 2007

Am I missing something or does "thisadventurespage" only go up to 2007

A few years ago, (after some friends had read some of the handwritten diaries I'd kept as we travelled and commented they should be published for other travellers) I started putting them into blog format. So, I was always putting in the entries quite a while after they had actually happened. It also took ages, got interrupted by things like moving house. So, it is 2020 and I am doing the entries for the 2007 trip!

Hope that explains the time lag.

I wish that the Word Press blog option had been available when we first went on the road full time, in 1998.

Dougwe - I wish I'd done the trip on the original Ghan Railway, back before it closed. Reckon it could have been quite an adventure. We did travel on the "new" sanitized Ghan in 2011. It was interesting and enjoyable, but nothing tlike the adventure that I reckon the old one would have been.
