An "untravel" blog

Finally, after three months in lock down on  a farm, and two months penitentiary in the big smoke of Brisbane, we are back on the road again, but in the meantime, a few things have been happening, so here is my update.

Impressive scars. You sure did dive in doing both knees.

I wasn't going to go back, so it was the best solution for all. Glad I made the decision.

I know someone who had one done, won't go back for the second. I think your choice was good

Hi Lorraine, great read and pics as usual. You should write professionally.

Those scars remind me of the one on my chest.

I was only game to do one knee and really don't want to do another. The Kmart thingy sounds like it did the trick for you though so good. I didn't improve for some time but my office at the time was changed to up stairs, wow! did that make a big difference. I was back to better than new soon later. The knee and chest were many moons ago now.

I hope you have recovered now and back at it.

Keep Safe out there.

Hi Dunmowin

Good to see that you have overcome your knee's problem

Thanks for the write-up, it was informative, and may well help us, in the future

Hope that there are many more, and safe road trips, ahead of you both

 Best decision I made...

Back on the road locally and having a ball

Thanks Tony Bev, as far as we are concerned there are many more miles left for us to explore, new knees or no! Just glad the episode is over.

My Specialist back in January refused to operate on both my knees as he said I was too OLD.

Jesus I am only 81 so what is too old.

Anyway still have issues with the knee since the op on 19th Feb.

Wished it was two week later, as Co-vid hit and I probably would not have had the op. done.

Too bloody late now

Not that I am saying you are old, but I can understand the Dr sentiments. Prehab and rehab have been my friends, but I admit, I am almost 20 years younger than you.

Hang in there, they might still come good with time.

At least you used the time in lockdown constructively. Think of how p'd off you would be if you'd had to devote good travel time to surgery and rehab!
May it continue to go well.

Thanks wendyv. Really going well, even now back on the road. Next hurdle is for me to get behind the wheel again

I've noticed (through my work) that in Queensland they are reticent to do both knees at once, but in WA, they seem to jump right in and do both at once. Strange.

I had absolutely no issues in getting both done at once. Surgeon asked me which knee, I said both, so both it was.

I am now 14 weeks post and doing well.
