I have the Bosch 10.8/12v vacuum & 4ah batteries, also a Bosch 18v & 6ah batteries.
The Bosch 18v vacuum is a lot better than the 12v. I only bought both of them as I already had the batteries, quite frankly out of interest. Personally I wouldn't bother with a 12v, it is just too short on guts, it's really only for crumbs off the dinning room table.
Our full sized vacuum is a Nilfisk VP600 350/800 watts, it is so good at 350 watts we generally never bother at 800 watts.
In the car we use our ARB triple compressor setup when traveling, can also use it as a venturi vacuum, but it is really good as a blower dislodging all the dust, 40psi continuously, 90psi for short bursts. Can also use it with water for outside, this is brilliant at 0.5L/minute of Perrier bottled water!
This setup did cost $2000 but it was worth every cent as the wifey is happy to clean the car!
I had a 18 volt ryobi it was useless then the Mrs said get a dyson from bunnings for 250 I said what a waste of money guess what I was wrong again its the best vaccum for caravanning but you will need at least a 400 watt inverter

My husband has a large selection of Makita tools and we do have an 18v vacuum cleaner for the van.
Rob says he doesnt think that Makita have a 12 volt one.
He has a blower which we use for cleaning the grass and stones etc from awning or annexe floor. He carries 18 volt Makita drills and driver guns as well.
When we bought the vacuum cleaner there were a few models available and we selected the model that has a Hepa Filter so as we are not polluting the air inside the van. It was not the cheapest one but from memory it was the next model up. When we bought ours you could get models right up to commercial standard. The one we have is just a stick model and it will lift the loose mats I have on the van floor so it has plenty of suction for what I want and Rob uses it in the car as well.
When we started out we had a 240 v unit but is was far to cumbersome for me to use easily.

Rob has just chimed in to tell me that he uses the blower to clean the filters on the vacuum cleaner and he also tells me he has a saw and a grinder which are all 18v Makita as well.
We brought one about 3 weeks ago, wife very happy, way better job then sweeping, especially with dust, the head fits under the bottom of the draws which is a big plus. Seems easy to empty & clean. We brought the standard 18V unit, not the more expensive brushless version. I also got the 12V blower. The vacuum has a 1.5Ah battery which makes it lighter to use. The blower has the 3Ah battery which we could also use on the vacuum if required. Next purchase will be a reciprocating saw skin
I have the 18V DeWalt one, as all my power tools are DeWalt. Wet & dry, suck & blow, AC & DC. Very useful for car, van, and around the home and workshop.
