Was going to do the same on the side door of my gull wing canopy . may have to revisit the idea.

The old Hino had 2 x 250 watts when we bought it so straight away added another 2 x 250 watts on the roof.

Then when we were isolating at our son's Bush block among the trees there wasn't much solar to be had so I bought 2 x 300 watts to ground deploy which helped a bit. Trouble is where to carry them when on the road. Ended up strapping them to the side of the bus and by parking the right direction, I can hook them up and harvest nearly as much per square metre over the whole day as the ones on the roof.
Doesn't look so pretty but neither does the rest of the rig
