Leaking Camec 4 seasons hatch.

Good Evening All.

My Camec 4 seasons hatch has started leaking in the corners facing the storm fronts that we are experiencing at the moment.

We have had some very heavy squalls accompanied with severe wilds; Mandurah WA in the last few weeks.

At first I thought the rain was bouncing off the roof and entering via the fixed venting, vents closed; but today I'm not sure.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation.

Initially I thought I would replace it with the new model, but before I went to that option I would ask the forum.

I will look forward to your replies.

We leave for Broome in 3 weeks, so that will be a temporary solution for 2 months.

Regards.

Hetho.

Hetho, the 4 seasons is a great vent/hatch, if it isn't damaged then I would suggest it needs re-sealing - Butyl caravan repair tape is the best way to effect that.

Likely find the fly screens haven't been replaced correctly. The fly screen needs to be well pushed onto the aluminium. Not easy to get the sides on correctly. Easiest way is from the outside. Need to have somebody watching from the inside to ensure you are lined up and then pushed on correctly. Can be done from inside with a little difficulty. RV makes that do the right thing have aluminium angle in front of the opening flap so when opening the flap clears the aluminium.

Helps if you soften the screen in hot water directly before installing.

Most modern 4 Season hatches have detachable screen on inside.
