From midday to 2 pm 27 caravans, motor homes and camper vans went north and 30 caravans, motor homes and camper vans went south. There were more than this in the morning. Rocket... We hope to join the G/N in a couple of weeks as we are taking the van for a test run after sitting at home for just on 12 months.

Later in the year we are heading down to Victoria to spend time with 2 of our sons and family.

Know Nanango very well as we once lived in the small township.

Great little country town.

4 nights ago we were also at Nanango. Observed exactly the same thing. It's as though someone opened the gates and the herd has escaped. I guess it's just a result of everyone hitting the road in a short period rather than over a few months. By the way. The Peanut Wagon sells great peanut brittle.

We're hoping the inland run south of Charters Towers will be a little quieter on Monday when we head south - at least I don't think there'll be any other vans heading that way!

Part of it maybe because the weather has been so nice and those that could have gone for a bit of a trip. We left Toowoomba Wednesday last week for a 5 day jaunt - First night Lake Coolmunda, second Yelarbon, third Westmar, fourth Tara and tonight back home and we didn't even put a heater on and was going around during the days without coats. The others we talked too were having a few days break also. Cheers.
