The G.M Olympics-- who

I want to head back to Birdsville, again by bike, then cross over on a track I know that takes you into NT, and follow the border up to Adam Range. Last 2 trips there, I have been studying a new Marsupial Mouse, that has a reverse pouch like a wombat. I have not reported them as in previous instances, animals have been taken killed and dissected. So am keeping this discovery out of scientific hands. Last count their were 73 individuals, and I suspect their are many more within the range. These trips are pretty lonely as I do not take my dog, and also reasonably dangerous as water has to be conserved for the whole trip. I can only stay out there for 5 days, before I have to move on. But I really enjoy the work, especially knowing nobody is around for 400km.

From QLD border. The track up is just animal trail that I followed the first time onto more animal trails for a while. This is how I travel in the outback, into some pretty remote places, using my army maps, modern maps, a compass and a GPS so I don't get lost. Yes, have videoed taken photos, marked location on the map with the Gps and taken lots of notes, all in a book mind you. I don't do it on an laptop, prefer oldschool. This next trip, I will be taking a single wheel BOB trailer, so I can carry more water and extra food. I wasn't looking for any particular animal at the time. I stumbled across them, and only had enough water spare to stay out there for 2 more days, so their was a lot of quick information gathering in that time. It was only when I came home, that I became sure, it was a new marsupial. I had my dog with me then. So next trip was near the end of winter 6 weeks later and I stayed there 5 days, and did a lot of work. But this trip is for night work only, a total investigation and how they also interact with themselves and predators.

Yes you can send the email address. Will not be going out until all the borders are open, and am about to build a lightweight camper for the bike, to make all my trips very much more comfortable. I know it will ad weight, but a gearing adjustment on a much lower scale will solve that. Also will probably then come in to the area from the north side, as their are 4wd tracks ( very old) that lead there.

Perhaps we should adopt the Chinese way, when food supplies in the home land are depleted or extinct simply move off shore, intimidate or invade.smile

Then there is the medical aspect:

"Traditional Chinese medicine and wildlife

The worlds oldest healthcare tradition has helped to drive some animal species to the brink of extinction.

Traditional Chinese medicine, often referred to as TCM, is a system of health care that dates back to the third century B.C. It grew out of the writings of ancient healers, who began recording their observations of the body, its functions, and its reactions to various therapies and treatments, including herbal remedies, massage, and acupuncture. For more than 2,000 years, generations of healers and scholars added to and refined the knowledge. The result is a canon of literature dealing with practically every sort of health issuefrom the common cold to cancer, pregnancy to old age.

Though China has long embraced science-based medicine, TCM remains popular throughout the country and is often offered in hospitals and clinics alongside science-based medical treatments. TCM has also become popular beyond Chinas borders and can now be found in more than 180 countries worldwide, according to some counts, and has an industry value of more than $60 billion a year.

Chinese Eat Almost Everything That Moves!

Foreigners are often shocked what Chinese eat. Many Chinese dishes make foreigners feel weird or squeamish, like dog hotpot, insects, scorpions, snakes, rats, pig's ears, heads, feet, hearts, lungs, liver, kidneys, intestines, and boiled blood.
