Cannot recomend the WACACO nanopresso hand coffee machine.

Just thought I would post this, as we are on our second machine, our WACACO nanopresso hand coffee machine has done about 2000 cups of coffee, the seals in the water pump finally letting go. Have brought a new one, and the problems I have been having are still with the new one. It would appear that when the seals get wet, they slip away, and spew coffee grindings into the cup. The coarseness of the grind may help, but it remains a problem. I also think that the capacity of the machine is too small, and the cup of coffee is too weak. You can buy a kit to add and it has a bigger water reservoir and cup, but why should you have to buy that as well.

LaPavoni Lever Espresso machine and Iberital Grinder in our Fifth Wheeler. We have used this set up for around 6 or 7 years - excellent for a couple of coffees.

1 Espresso to go.....jpgThese LaPavoni machines have been used in Europe for decades without any major changes.

Morning Iana, have a look at this thread on Coffee Snobs https://coffeesnobs.com.au/brewing-equipment-manual-coffee-brewing-processes/46860-wacaco-nanopresso-2.html

Quite a long discussion including tips, opinions and work arounds re the Nanopresso on Coffee Snobs, well worth a read.smile

 What a fantastic set up.

I can almost smell the wonderful aroma of a fresh brew.  I will research these machines & the Coffee Snobs web site in Santa's post too.

Looks like a XMAS/Birthday Present surprise for SWMBO.   Perhaps something to spend Scomo's give away on.

You will find a good used one for a lot less than that.

The Pavoni Europiccola is available new online for $1130 https://www.jetblackespresso.com.au/shop/p/la-pavoni-europiccola/

FWIW there are much better machines than the La Pavoni available around the $2000 mark, yes I've owned a Pavoni professional, not overly impressed.

I bought the Wacaco Nanopresso machine and the Barista kit on our trip in 2018 and loved it, although I really had to work hard for a "hot" brew.

Now I travel with the compressor backed up in the cruiser so the exhaust is directed out of the car; park up in a quiet spot so the genie doesn't annoy others, connect the genie to the van and fire up the Nespresso machine, heat a couple of muffins in the microwave and then enjoy; with the genie off (mine has a remote so can kill it from the van)

I still have the Nanopresso and should possibly sell it.

Regards.

Hetho.

Paid $250 for our LaPavoni  (was on Gumtree)  Really good quality with spares available...tho never needed any.

Excellent for 2 to 4  of shots but  then the group head  can become too hot if left - can be cooled with  a wet cloth .

That's more in my price range.  I got a shock when I saw the on line new price.

Doug .. SWMBO is the coffee drinker in our house.  I am a tea freak.  So this white fella was not speaking with forked tongue (sorry not PC but who cares) ........ Well sorta telling truth.

Kerry (KGB) I hope that you have a good  door lock on that coffee machine hatch.
