I plan my trip through Sydney for going through Pennant Hills at 10.00am Sunday mornings. Less trucks and other traffic. Soon you will have a nice tunnel to bypass Pennant Hills but at a cost. What isn't though? Once through there hang a right onto the M2 then M7 onto the Hume Hwy.
I have done that trip from Sydney to Woolongong and the other way around. From the Hume, hang a left at Campbelltown onto the B69 down to the M1. Take it slow and easy down the hill and all is good. Double B's etc do it so you can.
You can also keep on the Hume and hang a left onto Picton road (B88) and come into Woolly that way. Same thing down hill.
I have done both ways and if forced to pick one, probably Picton road. Saves going through C'town.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.
