We tried to head up to Balladonia from Poison Creek a few months ago out of interest & head back to Norseman but gave up & went back the normal road & then up to Kalgoorlie & Great Central Road back east to home. The road (goat track) was overgrown & one continuous pothole.

The authorities over here in the west, are very diligent in closing the roads, because of fire
It was not so long ago, that we had two major fatalities, due to fire on the highways
Truck drivers lost their lives east of Coolgardie, after they had been given the all clear, unfortunately the wind changed, while they were on the road
In later years, one local, and three tourists, lost their lives north of Esperance
Truck drivers lost their lives 100km west of Coolgardie, after they had been given the all clear, unfortunately the wind changed, while they were on the road

I did not realise it was that long ago, JeffRay
I do remember that I was on that road, about one month before the tragedy
I lived in Kalgoorlie for about twenty years, and at that time, I still had plenty of friends in the Goldfields
