Getting to Tasmanian Sea Ferry Terminal in Melbourne

I used to work in Seymour and would drive trucks to Pt Melb for work, Straight down the hume hwy to the northern/Western Ring Rd, follow WRR right over the Westgate Bridge then take the Todd rd exit from the left lane at the bottom of the Westgate bridge and follow the ferry signs Very easy to get to that way

Mariner20 describes coming from the north or west - once over the West Gate Bridge take the left exit at the bottom to the servo, but bear left instead of going into it then into Todd Street.

The bridge in question is the Montague Street railway underpass. Coming from the north or west you will not go anywhere near it.

Size IS important, specially when it comes to boats

( they didn't make a 20ft Mariner AFAIK )

Ive been to Tassie many times , have not done it for a couple of years , I was always early , it was a problem . Parking around near the ferry was not an option , but finally found a good spot past where the ferry is , towards the west there is a road that runs behind the shops there through all the blocks of units , and you turn left at the end of that street , about half a km. and follow along the shore there is a park , where a lot of caravaners had discovered where you could park on the road there . Might have changed .

Edit: Just looked at the map . If you follow Beach street behind the shops , through the unit blocks, up to the Blvd (says on the map) probably they cannot spell , like me , probably means The Boulivard , along the shoreline . the park there , It was pretty popular last time I was there . Council may have mucked it up . I wasn't game to park there over the years as no one else was there , I used to find a spot in the industrial area nearby , there were lots of empty buildings then . Even had my own tree and put out my little generator , no one could hear me over the hustle bussel .Or even looked liked they cared . Things change .

( The Boulevard is accessed directly off Todd Rd, we travel along the Boulevard to the first roundabout and do a Uturn and park along the beachfront facing away from the Spirit, plenty of free parking )

We have overnighted a few times on the Boulevard ( adjacent to the reserve/beach) in the past, however I understand that overnighting is not allowed now due to a change in parking rules.

Can anyone provide and update on the current situation.
