what is road like cowra to yass? Caravan parks in Yass recommend?

Hi Lynette,

I spend a lot of time in Young and currently staying there and travel to Canberra via Yass every now and then. The road (Olympic Hwy) from Cowra to Young is great with no problems at all. From Young I go to Yass via Boorowa (turn left at KFC Young) then down the Lachlan Valley Hwy to Yass. All easy with no problems.


Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Sorry forgot about CVP. The Yass CVP is very nice with some drive though sites in the middle.

Just before the Yass River there is a park on the right, go down beside the school and there is free camping along the river.

You could stay at the Canberra Show grounds, good facilities, close to the Metro train station. You may qualify for free travel card, we got ours from the information center.

There is a lot to see and do in Canberra. I would not be wanting to drive back and forth from Yass to Canberra every day.
