S.E.Queensland horrific Bush fires

Whilst we, like many many of you are avid bush campers, the bush fires at the moment in S.E.Qld. plus other areas of the nation make one appreciate the Rural Fire Services.

Our heart goes out to the many families who have endured suffering and heart ache.

When on the road touring we must abide by the rules applicable to camp fires.

  • Unbelievable how one small spark can cause such devastation.

Have any of you had to evacuate an area due to bush fires?

Looks like we could be in for a more fires during the forthcoming summer.

Stay safe.

The now long drought period resulting in very dry on the ground conditions is frightening, and then add the seasonal winds, and lack of water supplies.

People on the news who have lost everything is very upsetting.

G'day JayDee,

I know what they are going through as I was involved in the VIC Black Saturday fires many moons ago and also the Ash Wednesday fires many moons before them. It's a frightening sight watching thick smoke heading your way then turning into a raging fire.

I feel for them all.

I am keeping my eyes peeled as I will be heading south from Townsville soon.

We are in qld. From now on we are going to have to keep an eye on the fire reports Before heading off.

I feel for all those suffering these fires. There has been suggestions that some have been deliberately lit. Arson should be attempted murder or murder if someone dies as a result in my opinion. I live in the Perth hills and have come under threat several times from deliberately lit fires so understand the angst being suffered in Qld right now.
