Have had VAST for 10 mths now. I generally use it when there is no TV reception. All you have to remember is to renew every 6 mths and do a changeover when you cross state boundaries.

We do because we leave it on our home state to get the news from there. Much more reliable than trying to get local TV

Don't use anything else. I do not carry an Antenna  just the sat dish.

We have both. I pretty much dont bother chasing local TV, just stick with the VAST channels for news and FOXTEL for our favourite shows.

 It allows you to watch your TV shows at the right time. For example, if you watch the news at 6pm and have not changed over you could be having to watch the news at 4pm if you have travelled to WA and still have VAST set for the eastern states. It would be worse when daylight saving comes in you would have to watch the news at 3pm. Hope that helps.

We use both , I can watch the footy and the wife can watch her shows at the same time.
