Access is the main thing. A platform twice the length of awning so you and someone else can slide in and out of track. If you are just replacing the fabric it is quite tricky. You need to securely lock the spring tensioner If you are paying someone it works out a lot cheaper to replace complete unit, fabric and roller. 30 minutes against 5 hours for 2 guys. I found this out as I had an awning replaced and Ken Tame covered replacement of fabric and roller. Turns out roller was bent by freight company so their insurance would only pay for new roller. Saver $50 on not getting fabric but paid an extra $1,000 labour for installation.

I did mine, I watched all the videos for mine and similar brands, lots of dire warnings about springs and spanners going off. I noted the warnings but did not have any trouble. Except for the pin to put in the hole.... watch the video, you will understand, a 2 inch nail bent and let go, I have an old fine screw river (hardened steel I suppose).
My mate who helped me is no mechanic or handy man, but could lift hold push pull as required.
Not a big challenge.... so watch the videos n have a go..... (they are mostly american, I should have made my own, but they yanks brands are near enough the same)
