Buy a new van

Hi all,

we are looking to buy a new van late this year & narrowed it down to 2 we like. Hinterland touring & Newlands luxe.

We are interested in the following :

  1. your thoughts on these vans, good & bad
  2. your thoughts on recliners or club seating
  3. your thoughts on the 2 dealers, Allen Graham & Hinterland
    1. their customer service, before & after buying
    2. serviceing
    3. repairs
    4. warranty

Thank you in advance

Not much knowledge or experience here with larger vans but I'd personally go for the recliners if touring a lot. A home away from home has got to be comfy just like home. Squeezing along the dining table isn't my idea of fun...but if you saw my gut you'd see why.

 Hi Sturat,

Some of this I can help you with. Our caravan originally come from from Alan Grahams Gosford, a 2012 Concept Vision 6 metre, med door. Purchased second hand 2016.

Concept are the builders of Newland along with Flanklin and Viscount brands all in their one huge factory.

Basically a very good mid range price caravan, towed about 60ks, a few alteration but no breakerages. Carpentry is great, doors still work wonderfully.

The 2 phone calls to Alan Grahams service department were excellent, the first time was for a battery box similar to what I had already, 4 days it was deliveried to Brisbane. 2nd time was for a incease in carrying capacity of the caravan, short time later done and Julie was on both accounts great to deal with.

Trice we have nearly been tempted into replacing our Concept Vision with a new one, its been so close but I really like the one I got.

Hope this helps. Ralph.

Definitely recliners. Ours allow the seat to slide out 120 mm as well.

Couple of Happy Hour activity, yummy dinner then its good night for me in the recliner. My lovely wife gets to watch the TV with no negative comments from me.

I can send you some photos of me sound asleep in our recliners, but Im sure you can imagine the image.

Hope this is helpful.

Regards.

Hetho.

New often worries me . They make them too quick leaving dealers to fix issues. Then theres the depreciation on new vans . Often 5 year old vans have these things sorted at way less purchase price .

If you have a caravan that you've ironed all the faults out of keep it.

Close relatives of ours bought a large expensive new caravan a year ago.

They've been in a world of pain ever since they took delivery.
