RE: Towing mirrors

tbere are always going to be those who want too stir the pot, I have been a member and have allways tried to help other forum members when ever I can. Having been a caravan owner for over 40 years and having a reasonable level of experiance I like Doug have answered questions a bit differently in the hope of providing another perspective to the question in the hope it will help. I am always happy to learn from others on this forum and have on many occasions, I personally use Ora mirrors with a stabalising bracket that I made and a rear view camera and find this more than adequate for towing my van. As for going off topic, well I like others have just done that too and if the person who wrote the original post would like to see a picture of the mirrors and bracket just send me a P.M. I only tow for a couple of months every year so the cost of clear view for me just did not seem realistic. To those who may wish to make a comment about me going off line to the original post dont bother its a waste of time and energy as I will always provide comment with the hope I can help the original or maybe someone who has a common interest.

After many years on the road we had Clearview on every tow vehicle we had and NEVER bought new, we got them from Clearview for sale section and never paid more then $500 and sold again on the same site for $500 so the actual cost all up was $0, that says a lot for Clearview in my book, sadly owing to my ill health over the last couple of years that is now all over

Cheers

Gooday,

After trying the strap ons, (Hopeless), then Ora's which folded back, bought these about 15 years ago long before the Aussie Truck Mirrors appeared, (Clones of these with smaller main mirror), brought Spot mirrors in from US supplier, they are great when on a roundabout or turning, makes the perfect set up for us, easy on & off.

Hopefully Photo attached!?.

I cant believe the way some respond to those that try and help.

I suggest if people dont like the way things are answered on fora, dont ask questions on fora. Quite simple really. Remember, you are the one who supposedly doesnt have an idea about your query!

That's quite unfair. I though the OP had a very clear idea of what he was asking. I would suggest that it's yourself and others who don't have an idea about the query. After all, you failed not only to answer it, you failed to even touch upon it.

Thanks for your input John.

I dont think it is unfair at all. He had a question, he asked it, people gave a response that they felt was helpful, but obviously Tony wasnt happy with the answers. Fine, but that is no reason to then complain and suggest that the Admin has something to sort out. The forum seems to be fine for most users judging by the input and number of contributors.

I simply suggested if that was his experience, and he commented it had happened to him on other fora, then perhaps he shouldnt ask questions on any forum, as it obviously doesnt meet his needs.

Sorry that seems to have caused you some consternation.

PS, do you see the irony of your reply to me, and its contribution to the original post?
