JayDee you are correct it is the Corella Dam near Cloncurry. The crocodiles are freshies and you can see them on the islands near the dam wall every day.

Freshies are ok providing you don't threaten them or go near their nests.
For quick ID, they have longer narrower snouts unlike their cousin, the estuarine. Largest size is about 3m (10ft).
Unless absolutely sure, it's best to consider any waterhole in northern Australia as being a home for a croc or two. It's a bit late when you're doing the "crocodile roll in the middle of the river"!
