Cuppa & MrsTea's Blog - Broome

New blog post - We have loved Broome having seen it from the perspective of the locals & are now almost re-packed & re-stocked, ready to begin living in the Tvan again.

Another good read Cuppa, so thanks for that

Your video of the Pigram Brothers, does not work, it says to watch it on YouTube, (which I did)

I have driven passed Broom several times, but unfortunately have never stayed in the town overnight, due to the higher cost associated with tourist destinations

There is nothing wrong with the town of Broom, or its people, and I do recommend to other travellers on the road, to pay a visit, as it is not too far off the main highway

It also has a largest Tourist Information Centre

Thanks Tony. Just checked the video & strangely it works ok in the blog on my laptop, but on MrsTea's ipad she, like you, had to follow the link to youtube. I have no idea why this is or how to fix it though.

If you can get up to James Price Point you can see the dinosaur tracks at very low tides.

About 2m from high tide.

About 1m from low tide.

A few of the tracks.

Thanks Whenarewethere,

Prior to the past 5 weeks in Broome, we spent around 7 months up on the Peninsula, including a period of time up at James Price Point, a place we know well. It is one of our favourite spots.

10 years ago we walked the Lurujarri Trail with the Goolarrabooloo people over 10 days & then spent a month or two camped on the country up off the Manari Road at camp spot known as Munudan.
This was in the early days of white 'discovery' of what have always been Marella's (Spirit Emu) footprints on the creation coast. Dr Tony Thulborn a paleontologist specialising in Dinosaur footprints joined our camp along with Richard Hunter , Goolarabooloo Senior lawman who has more knowledge of the location of the tracks up that coastline than anyone else alive , & Louise Middleton who worked so hard to have the footprints recognised for their worldwide uniqueness & we were given permission to go out with them to seek more prints. Exciting stuff back then!

Tony , or anyone else. I just changed a setting on the Youtube site & believe the Pigram video should now play within the blog rather than opening in Youtube itself. If someone can check this & let me know I'd appreciate it.

Ta.
