Replacing curtains with blinds

Hi there. We have a Fulcher Galaxy van that has curtains covered with pelmets that we want to replace with a more updated and modern system that also provides a higher level of privacy.

Our issue with installing blinds is the window winders are in the way. Does anyone have some bright ideas from past experiences in installing either blinds or a curtain system that doesn't have annoying pelmets but incorporates adjacent window winders.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers, Zac & Ellie

Welcome to the gang Zac and Ellie, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I went the other way. Although my aluminium teepee is only 5 years old I fitted curtains with block out instead of the horrible up and down window blinds/screens. I used stretchy wire as the track. Works great too. I only use the insect screens that are installed by the builder then. The curtains add a little colour to the interior as well.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hello ac & ellie and weLcome to the forum. We did this and cut a few slates  of the blind to fit the handle. We waited until spotlight had a 40 percent off sale on blinds. Sure modernised the van. We left the pelmets and that was a good look.

well folks, wejust did the opposite and got rid of the blinds and now have curtains.
Blinds were a p.i.t.a asthey rattle and hard to clean as they gather more dust thancurtains.
Anyway just of preference.

Thanks for the feedback Jay & Dee. It would seem curtains in one form or another are still the way to go so I think we'll invent something better than what we have got and stick with them.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Thanks for your comments Chief! We will stick with curtains in another form and forget about the blinds if it were possible. Seems they are hard to keep clean and can be noisy with the windows open.

Appreciate your feedback, thanks.

Cheers, Zac&Ellie

Thanks for the feedback "The Rocket." I think we're going to have to stick with curtains as its too difficult with our setup to install blinds.

Appreciate your feedback, thanks.

Cheers ZacnEllie

+1 for curtains, we have installed curtains as the blinds are flimsy and soul-less.

How did you go fitting the roller blinds?

We have curtains in our campervan and they annoy me as they dont sit well behind the sink

Ours has pelmets down the side . The bottom
Rail fits in just enough to hold blind in place .

Had curtains in the last van , blinds in this , prefer blinds but havnt cleaned them yet , its nice to be able to adjust for sunlight which is in short supply here in coffs .
Blinds lock down into right angle brackets that slots into plastic stud on bottom blind bar so you can travel with them down . window winders 0n side pelmet .
