Planning to visit Wagal Rock, WA this year as I come down through inner WA. Looks like the best place to camp is in Cue, WA.  Does anyone know the distance from Cue to Wagal Rock as I will just make it a full day trip from Cue.  Would appreciate any other areas/places to see along the Great Northern Highway. Visited Karijini NP last year as we came up the WA Coast so no need to mention that.

We were ther 2yr ago. Left caravan parked by info centre and drove out to Walga Rock. Very interesting.

Also while there you must visit Big Bell, old mining town ruins. Most of Hotel is stil standing and interesting drive/walk around the old township.

We then camped at lake Nallan, a bit further up the road.

Mt Magnet (has nice little caravan pk) and Meekatharra (free camp at Peace Gorge) are also interesting places to visit.

Plenty to see, just lots of space between places. Enjoy.......

Cant find Wagal Rock, but there is a Walga Rock in the area. Is that the same?

Another place to see is Mt Augustus. Bigger monolith than Ayres Rock, you can walk up to the top and its still FREE!!! I am sure that wont last. Also Sandstone is an interesting place. Lots of old buildings have been restored to former glory
