Bluetooth rear view camera for caravans

Hello all,

I have done a search and read posts about wireless rear view cameras for vans but not so many recent posts about them.  With improvement's in technology, I am interested in hearing about anyone's experiences with Bluetooth rear view cameras for caravans.  eg interference or other issues that diminish their effectiveness.

Many thanks as always.

I am installing a Blackview dash cam in the rear window of our Bushtracker. It has wifi and can be pick  up by our iPad at 50 metres. So I now have an iPad sized rear view camera that is also constantly recording the traffic behind the van. You can download events captured on the camera directly to your phone or iPad. You can pick one up for around $250. Very high quality definition and far cheaper than a quality rear view camera specially wired from van to tug.

I also have Blackview dash and rear cam in the cruiser. This allows us to have the wifi on one of our phones picking up the wifi from the tug cameras giving us a constant rear view from the rear window of the cruiser showing the A frame and front of van.

I am a big believer in wireless connection of equipment. Some people I know tried Bluetooth but had difficulty with interference. So far, we havent had any problems with Blackview and its wifi.

Pete

I considered fitting a BlackVue to the rear of the caravan but there is difficulty in securing it as I have no rear window in the van and would have to fit it externally. Would love to hear your source, though, as the one in the vehicle cost a lot more than $250.

Further to this subject, I have bought a ikross cup mount to hold the iPad. It is adjustable every which way and mounts into one of the front cup holder. From Amazon.

The view is great. The photo shows the view from my front dash cam but will be the same as the view from the rear window of the van.
The iPad als holds our Wiki camps and other camping/map apps.

Thank you all for your input. HWMBO has gone with the traditional cable version after all.
