So here we go, the van is hooked, the car is charged and ready

We need to go 500 klicks, so do it nice and steady

I sort of hope  my lithium will hold enough intensity

Coz batteries unlike fossil fuels do have a great propensity

To flatten out, to drain away, to go away and die

But never fear, a charging point will make my motors fly!

The nearest one, well not too far from where I want to go

So Tally Ho! Why, don't you know, electrons there will flow

But crikey, here we are, not far, from where I plug her in

A crowd of fellow lectric tugs are waiting, in a spin

Because it takes, at best you see, an hour to get some juice

And I am seventh back in line, and feeling like a goose

Now just across the road from us, a group of planet killers 

Are filling up their evil diesel 3 tonne hauling thrillers

It takes them, why, no time at all, to go upon their way

And here I am, and at this rate, be sitting here all day!

My goodness me, this day is hot, I feel like such a dolt

The fridge inside my caravan is draining my 12 volt!

The magic meter on my dash is flashing up a storm

Informing me that soon enough my beer will now be warm

I think about the old days when, a fellow vanning driver

Would lend to you a can or two fossil fuel reviver

No more of that! You polluting rat! Now batteries are king

You have to wait till we invent a roadside charging thing!

So now I plan my holidays with care and great concern

We go no more than what my charge will go and then return

No longer can we go to where our minds and hearts decreed

Because my tugs needs batteries and a long extension lead.
