I saw the headlines and the photo and name and did not recognise that it was our Doug, under the hat and with the sunnies.
Since reading this thread I have since returned to the newsletter. I guess that if I had of read the article and notice the Big Chief and Colorado It would have clicked immediately.
So Doug, all the very best for a speedy recovery.
Southern Winter is on the way, and you will need to be fit to head off on your annual treck up to Far North Qld.
From Brian and Wendy, Met you at Greens Lake couple of years back. We do wish you a restful recovery, might take a while. These things happen so quickly. Did a similar thing myself in the dark the other night at Epic. Lovely spot, hard bitumen, not good for the patellas and hands, bit of gravel rash. Will get Brian to take the dog for a walk at night now and give him a torch
All that aside, thankyou Jetta and everyone else for you kind thoughts.
I am still in heaps of pain but just found out today I am on the wrong dose so that will change tonight and I hope some pain will go. A long healing process in front of me though.
Keep safe on the roads and out there (OH! and going down steps)

After reading all of this, I am going to have a talk to a good Chinese friend of mine Dr. Ah Sup he specializes in trips and falls. He will know all about milk n Manuka honey.

Thanks again every one. Just a little update. Rib pain is no better. I am seeing a different GP tomorrow 14/3 as I am now in Young NSW. Hopefully he will give me some better pain killers and sort my leg injury as well. I think it is getting worse and smells.

Sorry to hear of your accident Doug. Ribs can be a bastard, I broke four at one time when bucked off a horse. Couldn't lie down flat or turn over at night without lots of pain. Ended up propping a couple of pillows on the end of the lounge and sleeping/dozing in sitting up position for a month. As for the leg - get some good old Rawleigh's salve, the yellow, sulphur-based stuff, put some on with a Melolin patch that doesn't stick to wound and a bandage. Change the dressing every few days and it will heal everything in time - I had an ulcer on the front of my shin bone and cleared it up with that - took about a month though.
Cheers,
... Val
YES! Change of GP and change of pain killer and a Anti Inflammatory added to the mix has helped heaps. After 4 weeks of being told leg damage is not infected, IT IS! Surprise, surprise, surprise. I told 'em but no one listened. Antibiotic for that as well.
Anyone need a Chemist I am a walking one at the moment
