Bundoora Dam around Middlemount Qld.

Can anyone give us an update of the camping at Bundoora Dam.

Is the dam full after the recent rains in teh Middlemount and Mackay region?

Is the dam openfor camping once again?

Thanks

 Hi JayDee.

The secrete will be out now, last August we stayed for a week along with about 40 others and we really enjoyed the experience.

My only tip is the turn off is not marked well and can be a little hard to find which works in the favour of keeping the numbers down.

As for the reason weather up there I could not make a comment, in a month it be almost forgotten that they had rain up there.

thanks guys,
I had never heard of the place but looked it up after reading both your posts. What a lovely place, we will certainly put that on our list.
thanks

 Secret is now out.

No potable water on site, dam good for a swim or shower.

God damn it, now the secret is out and by the time we get there, it will be packed

But still do not know if the camping ground is open or the dam is full. I guess that the dam could have gone dry and that there will be no fish or red claw.

Guess that I will ring the info centre at Middloemount or maybe Mackay.

Hi JayDee,

I just checked some figures and the area at Middlemount had received approx 200mm of rain during January and up until now in Feb.

I came close to going there in January just before the rains started but I was told it was closed for camping by the mining company so I didnt bother. Apparently someone lit a fire that caused a problem.

I would do some accurate checking if relying on it being open
