i've been looking at all the fb pages from lemon to non lemon shonky this and shonky that , you cant say this and you cant say that , unbelievable people squabling over trivial bs . Yeah theres good and bad , no matter what you buy . But ranting on about whos van is good and whos isnt . People saying they'll never buy a van because they're all shonky what a liad of crock get a life you dipsticks
You are really going to endear yourself to the Forum with that post.
Some people will sped a lot of money on their rig and are trying to find out what to buy and what to stay away from. Sure there are good and bad of anything you buy.
So tell me would you buy an Edsel, or a Pommie TR7?
There are a lot of crackpot negative forums on Facebook with their own agendas.
If you want to find out about caravan brands spend a bit of time wandering through some caravan parks and have a chat and a cuppa with some owners.
If you are interested in a particular brand ask an owner everytime you see one....first hand information.

Maybe this would be better put on fb pages where you have read it.

Gday...
A few years ago I had a gander at those sites on FB and also felt that the majority of "faults" with their vans were bordering on trivial and easily fixed. I agree the 'faults' could be annoying and if the dealer was a pain then it could get unnecessarily drawn out ... but hardly a 'lemon'.
However, I understand that to make a comment on their group pages, one needs to become a 'member' and then any comment one makes is 'vetted' by the group 'owner' and if not within their 'rules' will not be added to the thread.
So, if a post critical of the group or other comments was put up, it would not be published.
Cheers - John

Sounds to me like you Mezza need to get a life and therefore enjoy what you life has to offer.
Are you on the road full time??
There is more to life than posting comments like you have.
I think many dont know how to use a tool like facebook for their maximum benefit.
I worked out many years ago to make my page private. It means when I want to share a family photo it is only shared to my friends and family members. That limits comments from them only. It is a great way to communicate with loved ones especially shating photos.
However I am a member of a few vintage caravan sites. With those I can find things that intetest us like colours to paint out vans interior or restorations. Again, I use it for my benefit, not others. On the odd occasion I leave the group if it becomes argumentive it is a process of one click...thats it!.
Its all about perspective. Its your tool. Manage it and it becomes an efficient one.

Mezza, not going to get into a slinging match with you, but you do need to take your head out of the sand. The caravan industry is self regulated and in need of a damb good shake up.
Some of your comments like, " people squabling over trivial bs" are way out of line. and another, "get a life you dipsticks"
Deleted what I was going to finish with as I did not want to lower myself to your level, goodby

I strongly disagree, family feuds can be, and are, carried on relentlessly on so called private family only FB pages, yes, I've seen it.
Fortunately FB use seems to be declining rapidly worldwide, sadly, other, and potentially more toxic platforms will take up the slack.

I find it amusing when people that dont use a form of social media are happy to see its decline.
Some people might fued among their friends on FB but I dont, hence my use to share pics and facts about my life are a pleasure.
It depends on how you use it. I think some, many older people are paranoid with change and seeing others have pleasure. Some would prefer to use negative film, wait 10 days for it to develop, find out it didnt come out and waste money paying for it...and with those pics wait until someone comes visiting to see them.
And you wonder why people use FB?
The reason FB is in decline is - like everything it has found its peak.
I mean I shared the following pic of my van build last weekend to family and friends....instantly.

I don't have or feel a need to share my life online, a group of friends and family I interact with personally is quite sufficient.
I use facebook to gather and pass information of the few things that interest me (mainly fishing related but some other pages too) and I post only on those pages. I disregard all those pages in which I have no interest.
Mezza, it is really simple. If you do not like it, do not go there.
Exactly Hewy.
Those that dont have a desire to use FB - dont use it.
But to go one step further and demonise it (as if it's some horrid tool) is showing a level of paranoia about something many enjoy.
Oddly enough there are some elderly members of society that might demonise the internet and forums like this one of which many enjoy or you wouldnt be here :)

Gday...
I think the purpose of the OP is being a bit missed by the twists and turns the thread has taken.
Mezza is not whinging about Facebook, but rather that comments and whinges on various "lemon sites" within Facebook are on trivial and minor things about caravans.
The "lemon sites" consequently bag and denigrate many van makes as "lemons" based on such minor problems.
If folk have viewed those "lemon sites" on Facebook, most would quite probably feel the same way that Mezza does - I have and I do.
I agree that Mezza has been quite colourful in the description of those sites and those who post to those sites.
However, that is no reason to denigrate Mezza's intelligence or opinion - simply visit the Facebook sites and disagree with the opinion of the content of the site, or agree about the content of the "lemon sites".
Cheers - stay well and travel safely - John

I'm not condemning the medium, simply explaining that I have no personal need/desire to use it, and I don't.
My wife on the other hand visits a family FB site regularly and frequently expresses disdain for something a family member has posted.
As others have said it's a personal choice, I certainly don't get bent out of shape when others express a different opinion.
As far as forum activity, pretty innocuous, you remain anonymous unless you choose otherwise, even then it staggers me the amount of intimate personal information people are willing to share, particularly in the health area.
