my wife are giving thought to our eventual travels and are somewhat confused between the caravan & motorhome. Primary inclusion is an ensuite, if caravan then we are thinking a max of 18 feet & suitable to pop behind our Pajero Sport. My thought is a Hino Rainbow/Liesse MH.
I am wondering if any has had experience with both or might be able to offer some advice.
Thanks Al.... ahh Possum! I'll check it out. We are primarily heavy duty procrastinators so decision is unlikely any time soon! if I had my way it would be a Denning or Tourmaster but they would never be approved. Have a great NYE!
Pander6, have a look in the General forum or do a "Search". There has been a lot of queries lately so I'm certain you'll find something useful.
It's better to thrash out the pros & cons now - before you part with your cash. Personally, I prefer the van & don't wish to go any bigger than what we have (17' long).
Also - WELCOME to a great forum where you'll learn heaps & save some hard earned $$ - I know I have!
Most of us try to be friendly most of the time.

If you don't get it done today, there's always tomorrow!
I think the question can be largely tied up with the style of travelling you intend to do. If you are going to continually travel having only one or two-night stands then go for the campervan/motorhome.
If you wish to frequently stay in one spot for a week or so then get a van. When you go exploring you will be able take the tug to many more places than you can take a motorhome.
If you want to combine both lifestyles then get your Denning and to a toad.

As I have no experience of the models you are asking about, then unfortunately, I can not add to what others have already said
I can say from experience, having previously had, both caravan and motorhome, that there are pros and cons for both, and that none was better than the other, for my situation
I could be wrong, but I believe that one of the secrets to enjoyment on the road, is to adapt to what you have
I did a lap as a solo, in a self contained pop top caravan
I now have the motorhome in my Avatar, as the wife demanded a vehicle suitable, for the cat to walk around
I only travel part time, and do mainly free/donation/low cost camping, using a caravan park, about one night per month
As others have already said, it depends on your own type of future traveling, and what suits you best
