Greenbushes proposed new exit for haulage trucks

Talison (Greenbushes) proposed new exit for Lithium haulage trucks will impact the free camp area next to the town's northern entry.  Yes it will take the trucks out of the town, but it appears the new road will impact the existing free camp off the South West Highway. Council yet to make a decision!

What? Are they going to carve up the sports ground?

Just took a look at the Proposed Greenbushes Mine Access Road put out in a media release by the Talison Lithium Mining Company. On the map provided it does appear to have a bit of an impact on one area approved for free (donation) camping however, that particular area is the one closest to the Highway, so usually noisy anyway from traffic now. Given there are 2 areas for camping, the first I mentioned above and the other which is quite a bit away from the proposed mine access road (other side of the tennis courts), I don't believe the mine trucks noise or movement will impact very much at that camp.

PeterD, from looking at the map it does not appear that any change (or carve up) of the sports ground, thankfully.

We will be through that way next month so will take the opportunity to call in to find out more if possible.

All the best for the New Year and travel safe.

Happy to be corrected, but I believe that there is but one Bridgetown in Australia, and it is indeed in Western Australia? This will no doubt put your mind at ease? Cheers

Got in touch with the Discovery Centre in Greenbushes and was advised they DO NOT expect any impact on the "donation camps" in Greenbushes. In fact they are keen to ensure no impact and will be monitoring as it progresses. So good news for anyone planning to use this facility.
