I purchased an el-cheapo 12VDC Oscillating Fan with Clamp from EBay for less than $10
It is noisy, and pulls about half an amp
I then purchased, what looked like a clone of this fan, from Jaycar, for about $20
It is just as noisy, and also pulls about half an amp
I then purchased (but have not used it in the hot weather yet), a Sirocco-Caframo 12VDC fan from EBay for around $140
This fan does not oscillate, but can be set 360º, and it has three speeds, plus a timer so that it can switch itself off
On the highest speed, it has about the same puff, as the above cheaper fans, but is much, much quieter, and pulls a quarter of an amp
If you do a search for Sirocco fans in the search box, (toppish middleish of the page) there are plenty who recommend them
I will not recommend them, until I have used it in the hot weather
Fitted 12v fan in roof vent . Great.. its above our bed . Wired via light ,has its own speed switch etc . Pulls nice cool fresh air in at night . Mounted side ways . A wire mesh keeps the bugs out .
We purchased one of the Coleman 12v, 240v, rechargeable battery, Box Fan with LED light - absolutely best/quietest mover of air for caravan. www.snowys.com.au/rechargeable-fan-with-led-8
