Hi, wasn't sure how else to contact you, apologies if there is a better way.
Please could you look at my most recent post at https://thegreynomads.activeboard.com/t64789894/cuppa-mrsteas-blog-to-the-kimberley-via-the-back-roads/?page=1#lastPostAnchor
and let me know what I need to do to resolve the problems I have on this forum with inserting links into 'some' (not all) of my posts. Thank you.
Suggest, in bottom left hand corner ( when viewing posts list ) , click on webmaster / moderator link to go to profile page and then send pm private message ...

Hi Cuppa, I'm not sure why your links are going to the wrong page. However, here are the instructions to insert the correct link into a post:
1) type in the text that you would like to use in your post as the link (this could either be something like 'click here' or it could be the URL address)
2) highlight that text that will be used as the link and then choose the little chain in the box above (this is just under the 'font colour' selection tool)
3) a little dialogue box should appear. It will ask you to insert the URL address that the text should link to. You can also select whether the target should be 'open link in the same window' or 'open link in a new window'. You can also title the link (eg name it 'Our October Adventures', etc).
4) Submit Post. Hopefully the link will work correctly!
Cuppa, are you posting your links into a "Quick Reply" box (ie one that does not have the menu items at the top?) If you use the Quick Reply for posting messages it pays to click on the "Advanced Editor" tab at the bottom to get the menu items at the top? In the past I have found that URLs pasted into the Quick Reply box often do not work properly.
I find that I get the best link posting by first opening the page I wish to link to in a separate browser tab. I then copy a meaningful heading from that page and post it into my message. I then click the underline tool, (perhaps the italic tool) and then the link tool. When the link tool box appears I then go back to the other page (in the other tab,) copy the URL and paste that into the link tool box. When I do that I rarely have a link that fails to produce what intend you to see.
