Best 20 bucks you'll ever spend :)

GPS Tracker from GearBest,  20 bucks.  Know where your gear is as long as it's within simcard range.  Magnetic and easy to hide.

Hmmm... these things should really be "Type approved" for use on the mobile network - I have little doubt this isn't.

It's a GSM device so check that it will work in Oz - I think we support some of the frequencies they mention but I'm not sure what the network status of GSM 2 is on those bands.

It should work on 3G on Vodafone, Optus and Telstra, according to the guys at Whirlpool.

At that price it's worth a burl, until they cease 3G at least.

The Gearbest one is GSM/GPRS - I thought that frequency was no longer used in Oz? Mike - have you got a link to the Whirlpool thread?

A bit more expensive at $72 but a nice kit from an Oz supplier that specifically states Telstra/Optus/Vodafone. Operates on 12-24V and has an optional use external GPS aerial as well as the internal.

I appreciate Vodafone doesn't have the best coverage but they do a pre-pay recharge that lasts 365 days - stick $40 on the sim and you should be sorted!
