Victoria's Big Desert area

Went with Port Phillip FWD Club to the Big Desert and Pink Lakes for a week of sand and desert driving. Great country up there! Like so many National Parks, trailers were banned and since I had the only slide-on, I did it in comfort!

Apart from not freezing to death in a tent, I could take a morning shower with impunity.

Also, while the tug (2005 Rodeo/Isuzu) filled with dust, the Trayon stayed pristine!

Last weekend was just out of Warburton in the shadows of Mt Donna Buang. Heavy rain a test for both tug and Trayon in the wet and the mud. Still came up trumps, although I do need to upgrade my suspension with airbags.

Looking forward to SA, King Is and Tassie next.

I Like the Steps in the side of the Trayon.   Always good to have multiple purposes for gear.

The steps fold down to expose the door. All very waterproof. I also bought an aluminium telescopic ladder. Very handy, light, compact and versatile. Need it to climb onto the tray, as my agility seems to have deserted me!

Very impressed with the Trayon. Stove top with griller, 100l fridge/freezer, 110l water, kitchenette with sink and mixer tap, queen sized bed, heating and hot water system with drop down shower. Power via 240v, 12v, gas, solar and diesel heating. 5 minute setup to unfold and another 10 to jack it off the tray. Annexe with floor zips on easily for longer stays and gives the equivalent space of a 15ft caravan. Tons of storage, so I can be in the deserts for 3 weeks quite comfortably.
