Caravan Insurance

Hi All - Does anyone have any recommendations for Caravan Insurance.  We have recently received our CIL insurance renewal that has increased by 18.5%.  Wondering if anyone is with another Caravan Insurer who is good with claims etc.  Hopefully we won't have to claim but if we need to we prefer no hassle of course.  Cheers - Deb

Welcome to the gang RossandDeb, enjoy here and out in the playground.

My aluminium teepee is insured through the general insurance section of my private health fund as is my tug. I have used them for many, many moons in a previous life and have been happy with price and service. I also pay by the month at no extra cost and that stops a big shock once a year. I have got quotes from a few others over the years but always have renewed with the known.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hi Deb,
If you search "insurance" on this site you will get more info than you ever thought possible!
For what its worth I do a comparison every year, I have been with CIL, Allianz and several others, all good, at times......
Cheers Vince

Hi Rossandeb, we have used CIL for a number of years before switching to KTC and like you we faced a massive rise in our premium. We now use Steadfast Brokers and our premium on both car and caravan has been "reduced " by $600. Contact, margy@stib.com.au Its well worth a email.

CIL for about 8 yrs but the premium kept going up and the van value down so 2 yrs ago went with Ken Tame - had to join CMCA and he wanted the tug as well but overall still saved about $300.

I did the hunt around for van insurance and the best value was QBE with up to 6 months lay up if wanted. A big saving on a van seldom used.

Nurzo, Totally agree with you. We have the same deal through QBE. In fact all of our policies are with QBE

House... Contents... Van..2 Vehicles and of course the 2 third party.

Have always been able to negotiate a better deal than the ticketed /  invoice price due to the loyalty to QBE.

FYI, Just checked the policy and Van is totally insured with contents for $469.

Never had an issue re a claim with QBE.
