FRIDGE TO REPLACE WAECO CR140 ??

Hi all Our 2013 Waeco cr140 12v/240v has already cost us approx. $800 and as the latest techie cant figure out the problem we think it is time to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Wondering if anyone has fitted other types to fit in the space provided and what the general consensus on what type to get. The previous owner had replaced the 3 way and has not worked non stop since we bought it. First off who ever wired it in for him did it wrong etc etc. Have had several refrig people "sorted it out" but haven't.

cheers

Kim

I get the impression that Waecos' in general seem to have more "problems" than the other brands. These "problems" range from power use, thermostat issues, and "plastic" fittings. I've read of some that have given up on the Waeco and gone for other recognised brands to solve the problems they've experienced. Unsurprisingly, they always seem satisfied with this decision!

Use Dr Google to access the Evakool site. From memory, they have a 146 litre compressor fridge that may work. They use only about 30% as much power as a 3 way uses. I paid,I think, around $2000 for the  175 litre 2 door model, and it uses very little power on batteries.Very happy.Cheers.

Thanks but the Evakool 146l wont fit in the space. Wish it did. That is what we would get.

When we bought our Coromal we had the 3way replaced with a Vitrifrigo 130ltr with remote compressor. Very happy with unit so far, 15 months. was a real shoe-horn job to fit under bench.

Not a huge choice when you're limited by space.
