Got the Laundry money sorted. Amazing how quickly it adds up from loose change. 600ml Coke holds $860 in $2 coins and the fruit vessel hold $330 in $1 coins. Hope I have enough to keep me in clean undies for a while.
So does that count as money laundering??? I get it! Instead of tabs on a spreadsheet you have different containers with different denominations of coins or notes for different expenses - now that looks like a good way of managing a Big Lap budget
Thanks for the tip!
Cheers, Kay

We use two plastic 35mm film roll containers. They're exactly the right size for $1 coins. Each one holds about $12. They sit in the car console perfectly.

There's something weirdly satisfying about seeing how much your 'useless' change adds up to. Can't stand coins in the pocket and I always toss them into an old upturned hat soon as I get home. When the 'coin hat' is full, off to the bank and into the counting machine they go, last haul was almost $500 - mix of silver and gold coins. We always keep a small bag of $2, $1 & 20c coins in each car, good for travelling (laundry as said above), parking meters etc.

I have two stubby holders in the console between two front seats of the Collie. One has silver coins and the other has $1 and $2 dollar coins in it. I use the silver for small purchases like a loaf of dread from the delightful bakers when I find one and take some for cash purchases to add to notes etc. The gold coins are for parking metres or washing machines etc. I just take them out when Collie has go in for a service etc.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Me too, except that they stay in the laundry bucket. I use one for $2 coins though.
I fill them up while at home & it's a nice surprise for SWMBO to find them full at the first washing stop.
The perennial question is " Have you got any coins for the Laundry"? reply " Yes Dear"!
Of course we now have the beaut washing machine that we purchased from JayDee, living in the back of the Patrol. Cost us much less than a coke bottle of coins too.
