Is there a particular time of year to see this beautifully sight KJ?
That's the hardest thing to answer Franji, as a rule the Wildflowers start to appear in the Northern areas from early June and will bloom further South as the weather warms up, they will appear right down on the South Coast ( Esperance for example ) right up to Xmas,
they are really late this year because of the late rains, other years we have found them almost finished by this time.
as others have said, it's really the luck of the draw,
Some years ago we were up in the Northern Goldfields, ( around June-July ) I came out one morning and saw the whole country side completely covered in these Pink Everlastings, the next morning there wasn't sign of them, !!!
They can be a fantastic sight, you just have to strike it lucky and be there at the right time.
