What a gem. Just been there. Took a quad bike across the dunes on the afternoon / sunset ride. Would have taken the dune buggy if we'd stayed longer. Their is another topic on bore water but what about the calcium laden, boiling bore water at Coral Bay?

Do they still use a small desalinator plant for drinking water?

I think they do. They installed a solar farm but the panel maintenance was costing more that the electricity generated. There is now wind power. The bore water is close to boiling so I'm not sure if that can be utilised for something. Certainly not required for central heating.
