Hi to everyone. Thought some of you might like to join my Facebook group, named as in the above heading.
It's for all travellers who would like to share photos of the unusual or big, whether its letter boxes, painted silos, art graffiti or the big whatever in nearly every town.
You will find something
It's an open group, so everyone can admire but uh ou need to join to show your own photo.
Cindy, if you find this inappropriate I will understand. Didn't think you would mind as one Master to another.
Thank you PeterX for putting up a link. I'm hopeless at that stuff
Thank you mezza, it's going well. Just reached 100 members in the first 2 months. I'm sure the last few have come from here.
You don't realise just how much art is out there till you see these contributions, it's amazing.
Almost ready to hit the road again. The next week is taken up with things that need to be done before leaving. New glasses. Blood tests for my oncologist. Restock the van while we are close to a Woolies.
Hoping to leave next Thursday , first stop Lara Wetlands for a few days then Longreach. Anybody in the area at the time?
On our recent trip to the (freezing) South West Victoria, we saw several examples of roadside art, silo art (even Australia Post has a set of stamps on the Silo art) but the best & for me having a warped sense of humour was the Warrnambool Wombat. It "really" was a hole in the railway bridge across Otway Road & in that hole is a wombat.
Many people stopped to photograph it (not that there was a lot of room to park) & it hit Facebook with an "expected 2000 views". That figure went out the back door as it went viral! The local ABC did a story on it & I trust Cindy will forgive me for posting the link but both it & the equally humorous movie "Oddball" have put Warrnambool on the tourist map. Somewhere that nomads & others can enjoy their time there, perhaps still being able to view the odd whale or two.
Just an additional note - Jimmi Buscombe, the creator of the wombat has also several council permitted pictures in laneways, on the footpaths, walls in the town - all wildlife found around the area, some native, some pests (the fox & the reason the Maremma dogs are on Middle Island) - all are worth a visit!

You will need to go on to the group and request to join. I will then accept you.
Tried to add you with you actual name. Facebook didn't recognize it.
