Camps 9 is obviously more 'up-to-date' than 7 ... I have used 5, 6, 7, 8 and now 9.

I don't use Wikicamps coz I don't use technology that supports it.

I would assume you are aware that the Camps Australia Wide web page has updates submitted by users so it wise to check the updates regularly to ensure your copy is upto date ... I doubt Camps 7 updates are still there.

Also be aware, if you are updating, Camps 10 is only a couple of months away - I'd suggest ya wait a bit -

Had 6 - 7 - 9. I believe they are worthwhile, but as RL said 10 will be released next February. Remember you are getting a quality map as well as camping sites.

If you have a GPS , for $20 you can upload all the Camps numbers , just look up the book see where you might be looking for a camp later in the day , punch in the number and drive straight to it .

We will often estimate about where we wil be looking for a camp that afternoon and punch in what ever camps are in that area , if we don't like the look of say the first one or decide to go a bit further, just hit the next number and continue on .

We are still using Camps 8 , probably will update when 10 it's out .

Been given or bought a many hard cover camps books. Then I discovered WikiCamps. Never used a book since. Thats our preference. Maybe not others. Still use a large spiral bound atlas to get my bearings.

Camps 10 late Feb. i just bought an updated 9 for $49.85 direct from Camps with free postage.

We've had Camps 6 & have 8 at the moment.

We also have Wikicamps but still tend to use our Camps 8 book more often.

Old fashioned? Probably.

I got camps 8 for 20 bucks but I really never use it, maybe for the odd map if I have no cell reception.

Wikicamps is number one in my book, upto date info.

I do get it if you are tecno challenged.

Might update when it gets to 15...

I bought camps nine because it was on special only for the road maps mostly,The large addition,the small one in my view the maps are too small so its absolutely useless....

I buy the camps book every 4 years and will also be getting camps 10. Realise that if you get the gps upgraded that it is only applicable to you for two years.

But I too recommend the install. At $20-00 I put it into my Garmin and it is just the best thing I have done. It has a topic for dump points, camps, and low cost caravan parks. Every issue of camps, they change the numbering of alterations so it might put some of the site incorrectly from say cams 8 to camps 9.

To help out they make available the updates and if traveling interstate it is easy to download a print out of the next editions changes. Simple and all explained on their site.

Believe me with the app in the gps all you do is type in the camp number and it will take you right there. Go to dump points an a list of your immediate area ones comes up.

Got WikiCamps, like the comments and pics. Bought Camps 9 and really think I thew my money away. Will stick to Wikicamps. Am I missing something on the page numbers being incorrect on the site index?? There are better State maps for less money too.

I'm the same Keith, not so much old fashioned, just that w/camps has its limitations, have found Camps seven invaluable over the years.

A combination of both works well for us. smile
