my son showed me that a good while back now , I got on and downloaded a whole heap onto my iphone , got a fantastic couple of playlists to listen to while driving and just sitting round . All the great stuff from bands and artists in the seventies mainly some late sixties, you can pretty well get any song you want.
Since reading your post today ,I have signed up to Spotify and listening to the baby boomers music. So many memories and great hits, thanks for the post..........Peter

Thanks Peter. I am sitting here typing this with 70's music playing through the teepee's speakers. I will keep an eye on data being used as well so that will be interesting.
If all us GN's start signing up to 'Spotify' the owners might whack a charge on it.

Dougwe according to google Spotify when on the default mode will use on average around 2MB per song or 40MB/hr. On the premium setting it will consume around 115MB of data per hour apparently if you listen to the same song again it will will consume less data because it caches some of the info. Thats about 1 gig a day using the lower quality setting which for me is still a lot as I have a prepaid modem that has a limited amount of data. For travelling I download music onto my Ipad and use bluetooth to play it through the cars audio system or if I'm in the van I will use the built in sound system which includes a CD player etc. both of these you can do without using up any of your data. I guess if data is not an issue like when we are at home where we have the NBN connected then apps like Netflix, Spotify and Stingray (Foxtel) are excellent. I was just away for 2 weeks and used Stingray both in the car and in the van it consumed the 6 gig that I had before I left and I needed to recharge the device on the last day.
Cheers
BB
