Georgetown to Forsayth in QLD

Gday...

Has anyone travelled from Georgetown to Forsayth in QLD recently?

The road used to be mainly unsealed but I have heard it is now either fully sealed or mainly sealed.

I will be in the area in a week or so and I guess will check with the locals then .. but just wondering in my planning stages.

cheers - John

HinJohn, we were there the other month. There was a a few short section not sealed, we did the loop with just the ute leaving our caravan at Georgetown. The unsealed section some were good others a bit rougher.

Couple of hints.

Mtn Garnet on your right as you enter the town, a big above ground diesel tank cheapest fuel.

Bedrock c/p pay for 6 stay for 7.

Georgetown Super market was also cheap fuel.

Georgetown Goodfield c/p. Very comfortable. Chimney freebie was a bit over loved when we were there.

Croydon rodeo ground was good value.

Gulf c/p was good.

Food right along that section was expensive.

Normanton was the next cheapest then Julia Creek.

Gday...

Thanks Ralph. My van is an 'on-roader' that I only take on short bits of unsealed road (less than 20Km) into camps ... so I will stick with my original plan and leave van in Georgetown and take me tent for the day or so I wanna be down at Agate Creek.

Cheers - John
