We found vegies and meat cheaper, not in supermarkets though. Roadside stalls or small operators with fresh off the farm produce.

The last time I was there in February/March 2014 I found prices average to mainland. I also used smaller butchers and roadside stalls. As I do even now on the mainland. Just got some nice veg at a roadside stall today, enough for a few days.

Enjoy Tassie and the 'good ship Spirit' if you are going that way. If you have a cabin booked for a night trip, make sure you take your own pillows to the cabin, you will find out why.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

When we were there we found them to be fairly cheap avoid the supermarkets and and look for the farmers markets if you can We also found the Tasmanian vegetables tasted so much better as well due to the cooler climate
