My neighbour at the (freezing) Lakeside CP at Halls Gap has a new Billabong Grove 16 caravan & is wondering how to fill his tanks. They said there was no manual with the van, not even a video like Jayco give (they had a Jayco before).
The caps are lockable, black & approx. 100mm across. They have one locked & one unlocked - the latter just spins around whether pushed in or not.
Can anyone assist in getting it-them open?

Just a quick after thought that might be helpful for your neighbour if you'd like to pass it on; For any other general or tech advice on their new Billabong, I've found the 'Friends of Billabong Caravans' Facebook site is excellent, subscribed by around 600 Billabong owners and even the company's tech people will respond to queries on the there. I've also found the head office/factory extremely helpful with any queries (although probably not on Sundays!)

Unfortunately I was a bit late with my query - they left this morning. Work, the farm was calling.
We did some locking/unlocking without any success of opening the caps. I & they were reluctant to put too much pressure with a tool eg multigrips on the cap in case something broke - if they were unlocked, they definitely didn't want to budge!
The people said they'd go back to the dealer who sold the van (it was out on its maiden "voyage"). They said other than a quick walk-around showing them "this & that", there were no instructions! At least Jayco gives a DVD on rolling out the awning!

That type of cap, although they unlock easily, if left for a while, and with dust etc can take a bit of muscle to move them (to crack the seal), but I would not worry that you would break one.
There's certainly a lot to take in at hand-over and I remember ours taking about 1.5 hrs with the main Melbourne dealer. It was very thorough and I took heaps of notes and photos which have proved invaluable. Not sure why so many 'van manufacturers don't/won't produce a manual, at least covering the basics applicable to all their models. We did get a swag of material on all the appliances though. The upside with Billabong is a very accommodating after sale service.
