Fiat Ducato radio reception

Hi Happy Travellers, we are heading off on our first trip in our motorhome shortly and one thing I have been looking at is the radio reception on our Fiat Ducato, speaking to the dealer it appears that the problem is the aerial connection to the fibreglass, not getting a good earth. Works ok where there is good reception but as soon as you get out a bit you get interference with indicators or brakes when applied and lose range quick.

I was told that putting an aerial on the metal bull bar was the best option, just wondering if anyone has done this and was it a good result, also where to connect into the cable to install the external aerial that connects both radio's.

Look forward to your comments.

Thanks, Tim

I agree -the reception on the Fiat radio is terrible - When I first got the Ducato in 2014 I remember looking at forums in England and they all agreed that the radio system was no good.
I can not remember any solutions.
I will be interested what solutions you get
I do not have a bull bar to mount the aerial

My 2006 Fiat Ducato, is suppose to have the aerial, inbuilt in the passenger door mirror

The original European radio was worse than useless, even in the built up areas

I fitted an Australian radio, from Repco (I think)

You need to buy a European to Australian, aerial lead connector at the radio end

My Australian radio, is now only useless, away from the built up areas

Hope that this info is useful
