The Kimberley

If you are not sure whether or not you want to visit the Kimberley, have a look at the ABC's "Mystery Road". I saw it on Iview.

It's filmed in the Kimberley and in my opinion the Kimberley is the star of the show and not the human actors or the camera operator/s. Human stars include Aaron Pederson, Judy Davis, Deborah Mailman, Ernie Dingo (much better here than in his various travel shows), John Waters and Colin Friels.

Totally agree Tony. Great show, almost true to life with great acting from all members of the cast all the way through.

The whole story is very close to home and seemed to based at Wyndahm.

We watched it on Net Flicks channel 2 A. B. C. about 7 episodes.

Have fun Haji-Baba

Agree Tony, 'Mystery Road' is up there with the best series I've seen. It was terrible weather here over the weekend just gone and I searched ABC's iView and found it. I ended up watching the full 6 episodes of series one. You get hooked very quickly and must se it through to the end.

There is a movie of the same name and is equally as good. Also there is a second movie called 'Gladstone' and going by the trailer I found looks as good too, it would be as Jackie Weaver is in that one too.

Great scenery in all three and wets the appitite for a visit to the areas used.

Just to digress a little.....If you want to watch another good series but nothing like the above series or movies take a peak at '13 reasons why' it also is a great series and you get hooked very quickly but is a bit slow in parts.

WARNING!  If you have a personal problem or know someone close that has a problem with suiside and bullying maybe tread carefully. Worth the watch though.

Currently in Kununurra. Havent seen the show, but it is set in Wyndham. The locals here say a few abandoned buildings were cleaned up and used especially for the show. It is a magnificent and interesting part of our big country.

My husband and I recently spent 6 months caretaking Banana Well Getaway 2 hours north of Broome. Wow how lucky were we. The scenery, the wildlife, beaches etc. Amazing to be part of the Kimberley for six months. It is only 15 mins from the famous Beagle Bay, 1 hour from Cape Leveque and only 40 mins to the most beautiful Pender Bay Escape. A magic part of the world. Kim
