A few from Lara Station Wetlands Campground.

Lara Station near Barcaldine QLD is a fantastic place to stay a while. Easily reached via a good unsealed road just off the Landsborough Hwy

The camp surrounds a small permanent thermal lake that attracts lots of bird life. There's also a pool for campers to enjoy as well.

We recommend this spot highly, it was hard to tear ourselves away after a 3 night stay. Very friendly relaxed outback atmosphere.

Here's a few images from our stay.

Female RTBC (1400x933).jpg

Female Red-tailed Black ****atoo fly in to drink every evening.

YBSB (1400x933).jpg

Yellow-billed Spoonbill wade in the shallows on the lake edge oblivious to campers.

Whoopee!

Black-tailed Native Hen (1400x931).jpg

Black-tailed Native Hen, also known as Turbo Chooks.

Red-winged Parrot (1400x912).jpg

Red-winged Parrots among many others, fly in for a drink & bath.

PE Ducks (1400x937).jpg

Pink-eared Ducks love the lake/camp enviroment.

Thanks for viewing.

Fantastic bird photos again Judy and Keith. We had a pair of Pink Eared Ducks out from our camp at Greenhills Lake earlier this year. Lovely looking water bird. Rod.
