The full force of mother nature is being felt in Western Australia as emergency services deal with damaging wind gusts from a severe cold front that is also dumping heavy rain in Perth and the state's south-west.

Lightning strikes over a purple sky south of Perth.

Hopefully it reached Albany and put those fires out. It's been bucketting down in the SW (inland) since last night.

We've just returned from a month up in the Northern Goldfields,  35C and Clear blue skies every day,,,,,
