Stay near Broome

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a place to stay outside Broome, and preferably on the road into Broome from Port Hedland. I cant get a good response from Barnhill Station, and I am told that the 10km road going in there is dirt and has had recent heavy rain which I think might make it difficult to get in an out of [we would like to get in and out of Barnhill Station in our 2wd Avan Ovation Motorhome while we are there].

Colin

I think Barn Hill is seasonal and they proabably aren't open yet - especially after the couple of cyclones that passed that way.
I think there is some sort of caravan facility at the Roebuck Roadhouse, where road to Broome leaves the main highway.

We stayed at the Caravan Park at Roebuck Plains Roadhouse when we were over that way in 2015. Can't remember the cost but you paid at the roadhouse. Nice and clean, pool, laundry. Saw others camped beside the road from there to Broome but these places weren't in the Camps 8 book that we had.

Hi Colin,
Broome Gateway CP, pet friendly, no power but good toilets and showers when we were last. They are located about 20kms out of Broome on the main road in. They are in WikiCamps which if you dont have the App would suggest you get it.
Barn Hill Station is a great place to stay. Cant imagine the road in being a problem it is dirt road but OK just a bit dust like any dirt road. Road was flat and no ruts when we went there. All the camping and caravan parks between Pt Hedland and Broome are very popular infact every place up there will be from now on for the season. They have a powered area and unpowered area, pet friendly, one of the best beaches anywhere. Barn Hill should be open by now.
