We used the caravan park at Warracknabeal as a base to visit the silos at Sheep Hills, Rupanyup and Brim. Good base, park ok.
The caravan/camp facility at Brim looked very pleasant - well treed, toilets and showers, some powered sites. By billabong or creek - very attractive.

Hi, I don't know which way you are coming/going but last April when down that way we came across from Echuca to Wycheproof where we stayed at the caravan park. Clean and tidy amenities block with laundry. A caretaker came in about 5.00pm to clean facilities and collect fees. Paid $20 for the night powered site. We then headed to Patchewollock via Sea Lake. You have the silo there and the mallee fowl sculptures in the park next door. Then we headed down to Brim and stayed overnight at Warracknabeal. The caravan park there also was $20 for a powered site. You find a spot and the caretaker comes around in the evening to collect the fee. It's on the river if I remember correctly. This CP was full the night we stayed as our stay there just happened to be the night before the old machinery auction at the museum. From there we headed to Sheeps Hill and down to Rupanup. From there we headed to Coonalpyn in SA to see their silos. On the way to Coonalpyn we passed through Horsham, Natimuk, Mitre (there were people absailing Mt. Mitre as we passed so we went into the car park and watched a while), Gooroke and to Lake Bringlebright for an overnight stay. Good spot - single flushing toilet with lighting. Very clean - the whole area was very clean, shelters near the toilet and boat ramp. There is a donation box at the toilet. Volunteers come in to clean the toilet, plant trees etc. Rosebery and Lascelles in Victoria weren't painted then but are now additions to the Silo Art Trail. We will have to go visit them on our next trip south. Also visit Thallon in Qld and Kimba in SA. Cheers.

Lake Lascelles at Hopetoun is very good and most of the guests are on the trail. its the most central. We stayed in the free section which is about 70% of the lake. You can do all but Thallon, Kimba and Coonalpyn in a day. Just back from there at Easter.

Brim Has a nice low cost camping spot, and next door a cheap caravan park on the water.

Hopetoun has a free camp and also caravan park at the lake. Very nice spot.

We did the silos in December, South to North.
Stayed at Rupanyup the first night, Toilets and showers ($2.00) from memory and $10.00 for power.
Lake Lascelles at Hopetoun is a great spot but was windly when we were there. The wind was blowing from the town across the lake to the free camping side.
Also has toilets and showers ( leave a donation )
The butcher shop, yes Butcher shop makes great Coffee and cake as well as selling yummy chocolate.

Cheers
Mal
